Here's the trick!: Nocturnal muscle cramps don't represent a vascular problem, especially if you don't have cramping when you walk. Quinine (q) is the best thing to prevent nocturnal cramps, and now that malaria is a thing of the past, the only way to get q is by drinking tonic water. Top brands like schwepps and canada dry contain q and so drink some each evening and see if that helps. Gin or vodka is optional!
