No: No they are not any more painful than many other shots.

Yes. No.: Lidocaine itself can be painful/burning when injected. A single injection of a steroid should not be any more painful than an injection with Lidocaine alone or Lidocaine mixed with the steroid. It is not typical to mix it with lidocaine.
