What is the best way to improve my cardiovascular health?

Aerobic Exercise: Aerobic exercise increases cardiopulmonary function. Running, cycling, power walking, swimming, elliptical trainer, and cross-country skiing are excellent at improving CV health. Pick one or more and exercise for 40–60 minutes 4–6 days a week. Try to get your heart rate up to a high but safe level—a common formula is 80% (220-your age). See your doctor first when starting a new exercise program.
