No: At age 19 rectal bleeding is almost always due to a benign source such as irritation around the anal canal, or a fissure or a hemorrhoid. If it persists or causes pain have it evaluated. Hope this helps.

No: Some reasons for anal bleeding are more abnormal than others. This can be as simple as an anal fissure, or hemorrhoid. However, this may also be a sign of upper or lower intestinal bleeding from inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, or cancer. The possibilities are diverse and serious enough to warrant a check with your doctor.
