Navicular: In some people, a prominent bony lump "near the arch" is often the medial aspect of the navicular bone. Enlargement of this bone is not uncommon. Have it evaluated by a podiatrist to find out exactly what is going on.

Bone spurs?: This sounds like bone spurs (arthritis). If you have decreased sensation in your feet (for example due to neuropathy) you could have dislocated bones, but that is less likely.

Many possibilities: Have a new x-ray taken to evaluate the bone. You may have a genetic bony overgrowth of the navicular bone or an accessory bony ossicle in that area. With a prior history of injury i would recommend that you see a specialist and get their professional advice.

Bone Arch: If it is in the arch closer to the ankle, this may be an enlarged navicular bone. In some people, this bone can be enlarged or even have a 'secondary' bone present which makes it more prominent. An x ray would help to make this diagnosis.
