Not sure: I previously answered and had not heard the word coil used for an iud. Some iud's can cause increased bleeding and pain, specifically the copper iud. Mirena, (levonorgestrel) which secretes a low dose hormone should help over time. Go see your doc, a nightly pill can be done but the device may need to be removed. You can also use a pill with the iud, it can help if there is no infection, then you have backup.
