Blood thinner: Yes Advil (ibuprofen) has a blood thinning effect due to it's effect on one's blood platelets. This is why Advil (ibuprofen) and other similar drugs are contraindicated before surgical procedures.

A weak one: Advil and other drugs such as Motrin or Aleve (naproxen) affect the platelet function and interfere with clotting as a result. Aspirin is a stronger blood thinner but when blood thinning treatment is required advil etc are not strong enough.
