Dark=problem: If there is dark blood in stool, called occult blood, it could be a problem. If red it could be something as easy as hemorrhoids. There are many reasons for blood to be in stool, but at your age, it unlikely to be something terrible. If you are at all worried see an md, the ones with the best knowledge would be a GI specialist or gastro-enterologist.Try not to worry but seek a consultation.
