Common cold: Benadryl liquid is good for both cough and cold in young children. Adjust dosage according to your child's weight per instruction from drug company. Low grade fever can be just monitored without treatment as some scientists believe fever is a natural mechanism for the body to fight infection. High fever should be treated with Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen) to avoid seizure from overheating of the brain!
