Skin oils and sweat: Bed sheets and pillowcases absorb skin oils and sweat (has salts). Over time, light-colored sheets will show stains, unless they are washed and bleached very frequently. The stains are not harmful.

Body secretions: Your skin secretes body oils and sweat, along with normal salts. These substances can stain your sheets and cause them to yellow or darken over time. These are normal secretions. Some people secrete more than others. Recommend regularly washing your sheets.

Agree with Drs. K&A: Unless this is a recent change, you can ignore it. If it is a new happening you ought to mention it to your doctor to exclude liver disease. Wish you good health.
