Don't remove yet: Its not likely the iud; you may have an ovarian cyst or bladder infection; even constipation. It's unlikely the iud and it's an$800 dollar device. Many things can cause the pain but i would go see your doc for an exam.

IUD check : In these cases i recommend scheduling a follow-up visit for an iud check. This will allow the doctor to confirm that the iud is in the right location. They could also check you for ovarian cysts. If you are done having children consider changing to essure. This is a very effective in office procedure which will permanently prevent pregnancy and eliminate the side effects of mirena (levonorgestrel).
