Will getting braces improve the appearance of my facial structure?

Absolutely Braces!: Short answer: yes, braces will improve the appearance of your lips, lip competence and a pleasing smile. By resolving crowding, rotations, improving tooth angulation and lip support, your facial appearance will improve. Braces will not change your bony structure though. The change in bony structure (ie: mandibular, chin, upper jaw, cheek bones) can only be changed with surgery.

Yes if planned to: Orthodontics carefully planned for your teeth and soft tissue profile will improve your facial appearance. Major bone changes will occur with surgery if an adult; or in certain cases the upper jaw can be remodeled in growing and non-growing patients by careful and well planned movement of the upper front teeth. Just creating a pleasing smile will change your facial appearance positively.
