Look for features: Some features are important. Shoes should not make a senior more likely to fall down (broken hip can be fatal). Shoes should encourage a senior to walk for exercise. Shoes should not cause pressure spots, so a senior won't get blisters or sores from wearing them. Shoes should be easy to get on and off, such as loafers or shoes with velcro fasteners (arthritic hands don't like tying shoe laces).

There is no best sho: You want to wear a shoe that is supportive in the arch and has a wide toebox so it does not pinch the toes and has a low stable heel.
