Spinal Fusion: I suspect your Back Surgeon will have some ideas for you. Doesn't seem to me like Converse would provide enough cushion for support after surgery.

Comfortable shoes...: If the shoes are comfortable, not elevated, cushioned, with good arch support and allow full ankle range of motion, they are appropriate to use after spinal fusion. Avoid high heels!
