Stand and shoot: Once you can stand +/- an ankle brace, you can start sport-specific rehabilitation immediately, such as shooting without jumping, cutting, or pushing off with the injured foot. You will be able to advance as tolerated until you are cleared for normal individual drills and finally team drills once all pain with activities has resolved. Physical therapy can help guide you along a standard algorithm.

Have an assessment: It's important that if there is a concern about a foot/ankle injury, you want an expert to evaluate and determine if there is any disruption in structure or if there is any normal function that is compromised. Proper triage, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation is important to keep you going. Left untreated, it can affect you long term. If in doubt, have it checked out.

Foot and ankle injur: Remember the saying price protection, rest, ice, compression. Get ioff the foot. Icing 20 minutes on 40 minutes off. An ankle brace or ace wrap. Crutches or a surgical boot. Always important to get an x-ray to determine if a fracture is present. Sometimes an MRI may be needed to assess the injured ligaments, and to determine if there have been any tears or ruptures.
