Will a lateral release help with my chondromalacia?

May or may not: Do not rush to do a lateral release surgery. I recommend a careful evaluation by an experienced specialist. Lateral release is not without complications and is not known to be the most effective surgery to say the least. That being said, it may be the one for you. Again, see a specialist or two.
