A member asked:

Is botox an effective treatment for hyperhidrosis and should i be concerned about side effects?

Yes: Yes, Botox injection is an fda-approved treatment for hyperhidrosis. Sweating is under the control of the nervous system. Botox injection blocks the nerves from sending a signal to the sweat glands and as a result, sweating stops. The potential side effect is weakness of the muscles in the area where Botox is injected. The effects and potential side effects are temporary and eventually wear off.
