Usually No: Usually no ... Orthodontic braces move teeth by using low level force for a long period of time. Unless you constantly bit your lip for 10 hours a day, then i don't see why it would extend your treatment time. Try invisalign if you're concerned about biting lip problems. Good luck!

NO: The overwhelming majority of lip entrapments are due to excessive overjet or "buck teeth". The space allows the lower lip to be caught between upper and lower teeth. Normal orthodontic mechanics will reduce this space and the entrapment will "go away". It would be highly unusual for a lip sucking habit to increase time in braces. Good luck!
