A member asked:

What could be the cause of elevated liver enzymes other than drugs or alcohol. hep c+ no viral load in over 10 years?

Many things: In general, if hep c viral loads have been negative for 2 years it is considered a cure (or sustained viral response or svr). However, re-infection with another strain of hep c is possible, as well as acquiring some other form of viral hepatitis (a, b, e, g and others). Weight gain can cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Are you drinking alcohol to excess? Your doctor can test for these.
