H&P, urinalysis, CT: The work up would start with a complete history and physical. If there is high suspicion for a kidney stone, a urine sample would be obtained to check for blood, bacteria, etc.. The final step may involve getting a CT scan to look for stones and to evaluate for urinary obstruction as a result of the stones.
