Went to the er friday night and they did a ct scan and said i am passing a kidney stone, how long is it usually before it passes?

It depends: It depends on the size and location of the stone. Smaller stones, and stones located in the distal ureter, have a better chance of passing, and more quickly. It could be a matter of hours, or it could take a week or more.

Variable: Days or weeks. Size, location are relevant to passing. Some require intervention by lithotripsy, or surgery if nit passing with pain control and fluids. Also need to try to determine type, cause and prevention!!
