A member asked:

Can i have a kidney infection with none - only 15 leukocytes in urine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: A more sensitive test for urinary tract infection is a urine culture, which typically takes 48-72 hours to get the results. It's not wrong though for your doctor to treat you for UTI on the basis of leukocytes (white blood cells), leukocyte esterase, or nitrites in the urinalysis, although i also recommend sending a confirmatory culture as well.
