Not sure: Most eye pain responds poorly to narcotics in my experience. Aleeve is a great pain reliever for many patients.

Anti-inflammatory: Narcotics cover up pain, but usually do not work well for eye and orbital pain. Aleve (naproxen) is an anti-inflammatory medication. So, it may have been therapeutic in reducing inflammation while also decreasing pain. Also, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories often work very well for orbital / eye pain.
