A member asked:

Will a prescription 800ml ibuprofen dissolve on its own if it gets stuck in the throat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Pills eventually will dissolve, however the feeling of something in your throat may not mean something is actually there. If you scratch the back of your throat with something it usually passes to the esophagus rather quickly. The irritation of the tissue in the back of the throat may stay and inflammation and swelling of the tissues makes it feel like something is back there.
