The American Academy: Of pediatrics recommends screening for post-partum depression as well as using standardized screening tests for infant development at each well-child check. From a pediatric perspective, PPD should be diagnosed & treated as soon as possible, because it can negatively impact infant development by 2 mos.Your primary physician & your pediatrician can help you find mental health providers.
