Bad idea: Generally it is not a good idea douche. Douching causes potential bacteria from the vagina to be pushed into the otherwise sterile uterus. This can cause infection and even infertility although uncommon. Douching in order to "clean the vagina" or keep the odor away is inappropriate for many reasons. By washing out the "good bacteria" the risk of infection is actually increased.
