Hard to say: Loss of vision in one eye is potentially serious. The list of causes is long and range from graves disease ( which is a thyroid disorder that can be associated with eye problems) , multiple sclerosis, to migraine and many other things. Someone with the problem needs a formal medical evaluation.

Bad stuff: This is either in the eye, brain, circulation in the body/heart or combination. This can be lethal . It needs to be examined as an emergency. It could also be a benign condition but this is a diagnosis after ruling out potentially deadly problems.
