It happens...: It's not unusual to have an occasional bout of constipation - which makes your stool hard, and harder to pass. Sometimes the rectal tissue can even tear a bit and bleed. Generally, constipation can be avoided by drinking plenty of water, and eating high fiber foods like fresh fruits and vegetables. Tea and coffee may dehydrate us and make constipation worse. See your doctor if this continues.
