Usually marked: Often a tube is marked or taped at a certain point, so you can visually see if it is further out. If urine is still draining through it, that should suggest it is still in the right place. If it no longer drains, has blood, or you start having pain or signs of illness get checked right away as it may have moved.

Nephrostomy: If your nephrostomy usually drains to a bag, it will stop draining if it is dislodged. If the tube is capped, only imaging can determine whether the tube is dislodged or not.
