Be aware of blockage: Nephrostomy tube ia a tube that goes through the skin and into the kidney for purposes of draining a kidney that has a blocked drainage tract. It is important that the nephrostomy tube be able to freely drain. Be sure that he tube is not kinked. Be sure that the tube is not pulled too hard or it can dislodge from the kidney. The tube can clog from blood, mucous, stones or debris.
