Serious: Cough with vomiting always brings to mind pertussis, although you don't describe a barking cough prior to that. More serious, however, is the eight days of no eating with cloudy sclera and associated paleness. Get your kid seen today, if not now at the hospital.

See your doctor: Coughing spasms to the point of vomiting might mean pertussis or one of its variants. There are ways that this diagnosis can be established and antibiotic treatment might be needed. Best see your physician.
