A member asked:

I developed hives after contrast test. i've had them for four days now with no relief. how long should they last? i had 2cc of celestone (betamethasone) im yesterday.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Few days.: Hives can persist for several days after the trigger, which is annoying. The celestone should help - add a long-acting antihistamine such as allegra, (fexofenadine) which is now available otc. If they still won't go away, talk to your doctor, because something else may be triggering them.
