Achilles' tearing: Achilles' tendon is attached superiorly to the lower part of the femur and upper part of the tibia. The calf muscle, which is a combination of gastrocnemius and soleus muscle is attached superiorly to the acihilles tendon and inferiorly to the calcaneus or heel bone. If there is tearing of calf muscle, straightening of leg will stretch the calf muscle, causing pain.Thanks.
