On meds for week and half, bronchitis and pleurisy, now getting sharp pains on right side of back and chest, what could this be?

Pneumonia: The lining of the lung is the main part of the lung that can feel pain. What you describe sounds like worsening pneumonia that has spread to the edge of the lung near the areas that hurt. Fluid is likely to collect there and get infected. It is hard for the medicines given by mouth (or even by vein) to kill the germs in this fluid pocket. Talk to your doctor, as a chest xray will help show it.

I'm a 35 yr old female and everytime I start to drink coffee I end up having pain in my chest on the left side. I was told back in 1997 that I had developed pleurisy in my chest from drinking energy drinks but I read that caffeine doesn't cause pleurisy.
