In doctor's hands: If this is a true value and not the result of transient stress, managing your mother's likely diabetes is in the hands of her physician. The best single thing you can do for mom is to take up some serious aerobic exercise with her. It will help both of you and bring the family together, and help her live better and longer.

Need to see a Doc: Further information is needed to confirm whether your mom has diabetes mellitus. That blood sugar level is too high. She needs to see a doctor who can perform further work up, control her blood sugars, advice poor nutrition and assess her health for complications of diabetes, like eye, heart, kidney, legs etc problems.

Go see your doctor: Tell her to go see her doctor who can refer her to nutritionist, diabetic educator & even physical therapist or personal trainer. You didn't mention whether she has type 1 or type 2 diabetes but regardless all the above is important. Next is taking medication as directed. That's where her doctor comes in handy. She needs to check her sugars regularly along w/other tests to prevent complications.
