No, not generally. : As long as you are vigilant at keeping the condition stable and asymptomatic, the eyelid margin usually retains its healthy appearance. Once treated and stabilized, i recommend a continued maintenance of warm soapy massages of the eyelids during shower time forever. This seems to help the chronic sufferer or the frequent relapser. Also fish, fish oil, and/or flax seed oil in diet is helpful.
