Panic : Around 40% of population will have a panic attack during their life time. Panic attacks occur not only in panic disorder, but also in ocd, social anxiety disorder, simple phobias ptsd and generalized anxiety disorder, . Treatment is a combination of medication and psychotherapy. Some antidepressants (not all) have anxiety regulating properties and are used for that purpose, see a psychiatrist.

Are you SAD?: If your symptoms are worse in the winter months, you may want to consider the possibility of seasonal affective disorder - in other words - lack of sunlight - which causes changes in brain chemistry - in addition to depression, lack of sunlight can contribute to reduction of endorphin levels, low melatonin levels, immune system problems and more... Try to get exposure to healthy uvb lights see doc.
