Could be.: Sounds like you have a burn. You may have been luck and received a bad first degree or mild second degree burn. Pain in a burn is always a good thing. Time will tell if you get blisters. You may certainly take anti inflammatory meds if not otherwise contraindicated. If there are no blisters or minor blisters there will be no scarring.

Possible: Keep the area gently cooled (no direct ice to skin), protected, and elevated. Some beleive that anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen may also help to minimize early inflammation. If the area does not blister and/or open, a scar is highly unlikely.
