Strong tummy muscles: To help the tummy look flatter, one can do exercises to build very strong abdominal muscles. It will take a lot of work, and will burn off calories. One must not eat more calories than he burns off, or he cannot lose weight. Helpful weight loss foods are natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and leafy lettuce (without salad dressing).

Coolsculpting: Besides traditional liposuction, vaser or laser assisted liposuction, fat cells can also be destroyed by cold. Coolsculpting freezes the fat cells, causing them to naturally die off. This will work if the stomach fat is under the skin and above the muscle. Fat cells do not regenerate in adulthood. Velashape and zerona also have some utility in certain patients. Diet and exercise helps also.

NYC CoolSculpting: Some patients with stomach pouches need a tightening of the muscle wall (abdominoplasty). For those who only need fat removal above the stomach wall, liposuction can be done if the skin tone is good. To avoid any surgery, zeltiq has developed coolsculpting which freezes ones fat, without surgery. It only takes one hour per site killing the cells and 20% of volume is lost on average by four months.

Liposonix: As of dec 2011, i'm the first in the U.S. To offer liposonix, the first fda approved noninvasive fat melting device. It's approved for abdomen and flanks but can be used off-label on other body parts. It uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (hifu) to cause lysis or destruction of the fat cells, nonsurgical liposuction. You can lose about 1 inch of fat (2.5 cm) per treatment per area.

CoolSculpting: Coolsculpting works by cooling fat cells down to a temperature that induces self destruction of the cells. The other types of cells in the treated area would require a much colder temperature to kill them and so coolsculpting is very safe. It works well for small problem areas like a tummy pooch. for more info see: http://www.omahacosmeticsurgery.com/non-surgical-procedures/coolsculpting
