Why do same say lack of sleep leads to obesity?

Inflammatory: Sleep apnea produces an inflammatory response within the body. This response causes an increase in leptin which is supposed to control appetite, but the body is not responsive to this effect. Further, the body develops Insulin resistance; the body does not respond to Insulin like it should... It's a chronic and vicious cycle. Excessive sleepiness also reduces the drive to excercise.
