Vommiting: Throwing up especially repetitively will result in a sore chest along with esophageal irritation ... Try some tylenol (acetaminophen) and maalox.

Hard to say: Burning chest pain right after throwing up might be ok. If it's pressure like (like someone's sitting on him), he feels it going to his jaw, neck, back or arm. That's worrisome. If he's short of breath that's more worrisome. Chest pain is a very very difficult thing to evaluate even in person. If you're worried always best to get checked out.
