Constipation : If you have failed the over the counter treatments like milk of magnesia or metamucil there are prescription drugs like MiraLAX , Amitiza (lubiprostone) , lactulose and ducalox take your pick and ask your doctor . Fluid hydration also helps.

See colon and rectal: If you have tried the usual measures (fiber, fluids and exercise and laxatives) and nothing is working, it's time to see a board certified colon and rectal surgeon. Basic workup might include a colonoscopy, a voiding proctogram, sits marker study and some basic lab tests including thyroid function tests. Hope this helps.
