Blood thinner: Warfarin reduces clotting. It is used in people who recently had a clot to prevent the clot from going further. Some people are born with an increased tendency to clot based on genetics. Blood tests can detect that. If you have such a tendency your doctor might put you on warfarin to prevent your clotting.
