OTC urinary analgesi: Phenazopyridine is a mild urinary tract numbing agent, available without a prescription. Sold as pyridium, azo, uristat (phenazopyridine) and others, this drug can calm the sting from bladder infections and may help decrease urinary frequency and urgency. Note that it changes the color of the urine to a darker orange. It does not cure infections. It is not supposed to be taken for more than a few days in a row.
