Zyprexa (olanzapine): An atypical antipsychotic approved by fda for tx of schizophrenia & bipolar disorders. It is structurally similar to Clozapine but classified as thienobenzodiazepine. It is manufactured by eli lilly co. May cause involuntary movements, akathisia, fatigue, red eyes, dry mouth, anhedonia, dizziness, weight gain, seizures, metabolic changes such as diabetes.

Antipsychotic: So-called atypical antipsychotic, originally sold by lilly pharmaceuticals as zyprexa (olanzapine) but ow available as generic. Quite effective for psychosis, severe depression and mood swings- but at the price of altering appetite and possibly altering glycemic control in susceptible individuals. Comes ina variety of formulations including orally disintegrating tablets and injectables.
