Beta blocker: Metoprolol is a medication which blocks a molecule on the heart called the beta receptor. This results in slowing the heart rate, decreases the occurrence of bad heart rhythms after heart attack, and helps the heart to recover when it is failing. It is worth noting that there are two forms, a short and long acting and you must pay attention to which one you have and take it appropriately.
