Confusing terms: Those are nonspecific confusing terms. I would seek clarification from your specific doctor. Possibly they were referring to polycystic ovarian syndrome which is when the ovaries have multiple small < 1 cm cysts representing a hormonal imbalance. This leads to a lack of regular periods and other symptoms.
