I try to exercise daily for 30 minutes on an elliptical but sometimes my knees hurt. what to do, stop it altogether or do it every other day?

Elliptical Machine: If the pain you are getting is under your kneecap or in the front then it is probably due to inflammation. If the elliptical machine can be adjusted so that you take longer strides with less hip and knee flexion it may help. Also try knee strengthening exercises: knee extensions, knee curls, leg presses and calf raises: 4 sets of 10-12 reps and increase the weight for each set.
