Pelvic exam: A pelvic exam is an uncomfortable exam both physically and sometimes mentally for some patients. It should not cause pain. If it did you should take to the health care provider who did the exam to make sure that they know so they can look for the reason.

Exam pain: If you are menopausal your estrogen levels are low and you loose blood supply to your vagina. This results in less natural secretions. If you are not sexually active, this will also contribute to your having pain.
