Yes if untreated: If bruxism is left untreated it can lead to tarnished occlusal surfaces on your teeth, jaw dysfunction, fractured teeth, loosening of teeth, and damaged gums. There are treatments available for all of these conditions; however, prevention of these issues is always recommended.

Permanent: All bone loss or destruction of tooth structure is permanent. Damage teeth can be restored with crowns and laminates.

Face shape: I agree with the answers so far. One item not discussed is the "square jaw" effect of enlarged masseter muscles. Boney changes can accompany the muscle enlargement. But usually if the bruxism stops, the muscle enlargement and facial squareness return to normal. See a TMJ expert to help with severe bruxism.
